CODA GIRVAN
EDMONTON, AB - CANADA
I am a self-taught Métis artist based in Edmonton, Alberta—on Treaty 6 Territory (Amiskwacîwâskahikan). My creative practice is rooted in exploring organic forms, often through figurative shapes that speak to memory, connection, and transformation. I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember, but I first picked up a paintbrush and started working with acrylic on canvas when I was twelve. Over the past five years, my style has shifted towards minimalism, distilling elements from the natural world down to their essence. Much of my inspiration comes from typeface design, and lately, my Métis heritage has become a central influence in my palette and forms. Shapes and colours in my work often reflect stories passed down through family, land, and lived experience.
KC HALL
VANCOUVER, BC - CANADA
KC Hall was born in Bella Bella on the East coast of Campbell Island, BC. KC is from the Heiltsuk Nation. He only spent the first two years of his life in Bella Bella before moving to Vancouver. In the big city, KC soon developed an interest in illustration and graffiti, and after finishing high school, he began to paint and draw for a living. Studying alongside Nisga’a artist Robert Tait, KC enrolled in the Native Education College in Vancouver, where he was introduced to Northwest Coast form line. In 2018, KC Hall became the recipient of the Crabtree McLennan Emerging Artist Award presented by the BC Achievement Foundation, which was founded by the Province of British Columbia to celebrate excellence and achievement in BC. Today KC is making art that is unique and free-spirited. He is successfully combining traditional Northwest coast design elements with his own distinctive style. In doing so he is breaking new artistic ground. When asked about his approach, KC says: “What inspires me most I think is embracing the change that is constantly happening around us. The change that is forever happening with me every day. Having a mind set that never stays in one place for very long. Native art is nothing like it was 10 years ago. At one point everything was changing except for the form itself and now people aren’t necessarily changing the tradition of the form. They are just adding to it and making it a newer version of itself, while sticking true to the foundation that it was built upon.

LINDSEY MILLIKAN

I am an artist with fifteen years of experience creating public art projects, community murals, and commercial installations. Throughout my career, I have maintained an active studio practice and exhibited regularly in both traditional galleries and unconventional venues. Great art doesn’t just occupy space; it transforms it. It becomes a living reflection-an ever-evolving invitation to pause, connect, and see the world anew. After twelve years in San Francisco, I returned to my home state of Texas, where I established a live/work studio in Austin with my partner, bringing me closer to family and fostering a renewed sense of creative purpose.
JOSH HARNACK
EDMONTON, AB - CANADA
Josh Harnack uses visual art to communicate ideas, thoughts, and emotions to the world. Josh was raised in Edmonton, Alberta, where his spark for the arts began. After graduating highschool in 2012, Josh moved to Vancouver to study film. Over the next three years, Josh’s passion shifted towards fine art. Frankly, he found himself too broke to do anything but stay home and paint. During this time, Josh was diagnosed with cancer on three separate occasions, resulting in surgery, radiation treatment, and, ultimately, chemotherapy. In 2015, Josh moved back home to Edmonton, where he began his professional career as an artist. A couple of years later, Josh graduated with honours from NAIT, majoring in both Graphic Design and Visual Communication while showing his works in exhibitions and galleries across Western Canada. Josh’s work extends to many different mediums but specialized in oil and acrylic painting as well as painting large scale murals.
His themes usually center around belonging, or lack thereof, blending in and standing out, and the sheer weirdness of existence. In 2021 Josh published his own book “Make It Till You Make It”, with Golden Meteorite Press documenting his artistic journey as teachable moments for aspiring artists. In 2023, Josh hosted and sold out his own art exhibition called “Train of Thought” where he collaborated with 20 of his favourite Edmonton artists in a fun and whimsical re-inspiration of forgotten art. Josh has received awards and grants in both fine art and design as well as a handful of art residencies in Alberta and BC. His next residency will take place in October 2025 in France. Currently, he’s working on a wide range of projects, focused on creating meaningful and worthwhile art before his time expires.
